II. Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1: Surface Preparation
Clean substrate (tiles/stone) thoroughly. Remove dust, grease, or moisture (use isopropyl alcohol for degreasing).
Ensure flatness: Max. 2mm deviation over 1m length. Grind high spots if needed.
Step 2: Cutting & Dry-Fitting
Measure and cut profiles at 45° angles for corners (or 90° for straight joints).
Dry-fit profiles to verify tight joints and full substrate contact.
Step 3: Applying Tile Adhesive
Adhesive Notes:
✅ Use only ready-mixed paste adhesive (cement-based mortars cause slippage).
❌ Never apply adhesive to the profile's visible surface.
Procedure:
Fill the profile's rear channel with adhesive using a putty knife.
Comb adhesive vertically with notched trowel to create uniform ridges (Fig 1).
Apply within 10 minutes of mixing adhesive.
Step 4: Mounting the Profile
Press the profile firmly onto the substrate along the marked line.
Check alignment with a spirit level.
Tapping: Lightly tap with a rubber mallet to ensure full adhesion.
Temporary Support: Secure with masking tape for 2–4 hours (Fig 2).
Step 5: Cleaning & Adjustment
Immediately wipe off squeezed-out adhesive with a damp sponge.
Critical: Do not shift the profile after 5 minutes of installation.
Step 6: Curing
Allow 24–48 hours curing before grouting/applying load.
Maintain ambient temperature: 5–35°C (no direct sunlight/water exposure).
III. Key Tips
✔️ Expansion Gap: Leave 2–3mm gaps at profile ends for thermal movement.
✔️ Corner Joints: Apply extra adhesive to mitred corners.
❌ Avoid: Using silicone instead of adhesive (reduces bond strength).
