Tools & Materials Needed:

Prepare tools such as a tape measure, a level, a fine-toothed saw, an Angle grinder or hacksaw, a pencil, a notch trowel, tile adhesive, grout, wet sponge, a rubber hammer, and tile spacers

Step-by-Step Installation:

Step 1: Measurement and planning:

Accurately measure the length of the installation area and plan the position of the decorative strips. Reserve a small margin as needed to accommodate the thickness of the adhesive and the diagonal joints.

Step 2: Cut to size

Use a suitable saw or grinding machine for neat cutting - in corner installations, use bevel blocks or fixtures to achieve a 45° Angle. File out the sharp edges to ensure safety and fit.

Step 3: Dry lamination:

Before applying the adhesive, temporarily place the decorative strips to ensure alignment and adhesion. Apply adhesive

Spread the thin layer of mortar evenly behind the decorative strips and on the tile base material. Use a toothed trowel to maintain consistency.

Step 4: Positioning and Security

Press the decorative strip into place to ensure it is flush with the surface of the tile. Use a rubber hammer and a level to check the alignment.

Step 5: Install tiles

While the adhesive is still effective, lay the tiles beside the decorative strips and gently press them against the edges of the strips.

Step 6: Grouting or grout

Once the adhesive has cured (about 24 hours), apply cement slurry or a thin layer of grout along the decorative edge. Immediately smooth and clean with a damp sponge.

Step 7: Final inspection

Ensure a clean and smooth transition - no adhesive residue, uniform spacing, and tight diagonal joints.

Tip:

Choose a decorative depth and adhesive layer that match the thickness of the tiles to make the appearance flatter.

Remember to remove the excess adhesive before it dries; otherwise, once the adhesive is completely dry, it cannot be removed.

In humid areas, silicone sealant can be used to prevent moisture and extend service life.
