Ghonor has got a trial order for 40GP hollow aluminum tubes
September 2025 - We want to share you a good news that a South African distributor (hereinafter referred to as "Mr. M", also known as "Mr. M"). After a rigorous sampling process and several weeks of technical discussions, Mr. M confirmed a trial order for 40-General Purpose Container (40GP) hollow aluminum tubes for industrial and construction use. We are extremely grateful for Mr. M's trust and also thank our company's team for supporting the customer from the first contact to the confirmation of the order.
How is a deal made: from a cautious attempt to a confirmed order
Trust priority requests. As a new customer, Mr. M emphasized reliability and risk control. Before mass production, he requested pre-production samples to verify the tolerance, completion degree and packaging performance. We did not reject or postpone the plan, but fully supported the sampling plan, because we know that trust is earned through action.
Real-world challenges, real-time responses. Making samples is not easy. During the development process, we are confronted with：
- The drawing was revised, adding round tubes beside the square and rectangular box sections, and a more strictly oval-shaped expansion device was added.
- Surface treatment upgrades, from polishing to transparent and black anodizing, more stringent cosmetic grading visible applications.
- The process complexity surrounding the repeatability of cutting length and the corner radius of the box section.
- Logistics restrictions on express delivery and document inspection.
We conducted a rapid DFM inspection, adjusted the die bearings to stabilize the wall thickness and corner quality, and trial-cut the fixture to lock the ± 0.5mm length tolerance of the telescopic series. Our finishing team has introduced pre-anodized surface audits and early screening for appearance defects. QC has added online inspections of ellipticity, straightness and coating thickness. In terms of logistics, we have prepared parallel route selection and pre-cleared paperwork to compress time.
Result： The samples were delivered in full accordance with the agreed specifications, accompanied by inspection records, coating reports and packaging test photos. Mr. M's team signed in agreement after receiving the parts and evaluating them. Shortly afterwards, we received 40GP trial orders from the headquarters, confirming the dimensions, finished products, packaging forms and phased transportation plans. This journey reaffirmed a simple principle: when we go further than expected, our customers will go further with us.
Product Introduction: Hollow aluminum tubes (round, square, rectangular)
What do we supply?
- The outer diameter range of the round pipe is very wide, with two options: thin-walled and medium-walled. It has a tight ellipticity and straightness, which can simplify assembly.
- Square and rectangular box-shaped sections, with corner radius adjustment for strength and appearance; Telescopic pairs can be used in adjustable structures.
- Optional shapes (oval, multi-cavity) are reserved for future stages if Mr. M's market requires further weight reduction or cable wiring.
Alloy and tempering:
- 6063-T5/T6 is used for high-quality surface quality and excellent anodizing.
- The structural strength and processing requirements of 6061-T6 are relatively high.
Finishes:
- Anodizing (transparent, black), with controllable thickness, suitable for outdoor and architectural applications;
- Powder coatings in RAL colors and wood grain heat transfer printing can be used for later SKUs.
Quality and documentation：
- Dimensional inspection: outer diameter/width, wall thickness, ellipticity, fillet radius, straightness, twist.
- Coating control: thickness, adhesion, color consistency (ΔE batch target).
- Material certificates, spectral records, and packaging verification photos are included in the shipping files.
Application:
Frames and shells, handrails and columns, sign arms, machine protection, solar/greenhouse structures, vehicle frames, retail fixtures and furniture frames - light weight, corrosion resistance and easy cleaning are important.
What persuaded the customer: three different advantages
1) Design-level customization
We did not ask Mr. M to compromise his design to conform to the standard catalogue. On the contrary, we match the alloy/tempering, wall thickness, corner radius and expansion tolerance with the functional and aesthetic goals of his program. For visible components, we give priority to extrusion parameters and treatments to protect surface quality. For the high-load section, we recommend using 6061-T6 while maintaining 6063 in the appearance components to balance strength, smoothness and cost.
2) Integration of manufacturing in Vietnam
Our Vietnam base integrates extrusion, precision cutting, automatic punching, anodizing, powder coating, brushing/polishing and laboratory testing. This means shorter delivery times, fewer handovers and repeatable completions - which are crucial when sample decisions are made on the first container order. The typical mass production cycle of a container is approximately 25 to 35 days, depending on the processing and manufacturing steps.
3) Deliver discipline and document preparation
We operate with the mindset of specification packaging: drawings, quality inspection points, coating specifications, packaging bom, cartons/laboratories
Negotiation Journey: What Have We Learned
- Patience can win complex projects. We did not rush to place orders but invested in daily, detailed communication - handling the meaning of tolerances, completing trade-offs, and packaging tests with photos and short videos.
- Take responsibility for the problems and share the solutions. When the completion capacity is temporarily tight, we offer two reliable approaches: one is the split completion plan to protect urgent SKUs, and the other is the consolidation plan to slightly change the shipping date. The client chose a split approach to maintain his market release.
- Let's talk about the income statement. We quantified how defect prevention (surface audits, better fixtures) can reduce rework and warehouse processing time. The mathematical calculation made sense and helped close the test container.
Overview of Factory Strength
- Press tonnage and production capacity: Multiple extrusion production lines (600- 2,500 tons), supporting thin-walled, medium-walled pipes and box-shaped profiles.
- Finishing line: Under the condition of controlling the thickness and color tolerance of the film, anodizing and powder coating are carried out inside.
- Processing services: Precision cutting, drilling/tapping, automatic punching, vertical milling, light CNC, assembly.
- Quality system: ISO-based control; Spectrum, tensile/hardness, coating thickness/adhesion; Cosmetic AQL file.
- Packaging and labels: Scratch-resistant paper, partitions, corner protectors; Each customer template's carton/pallet box should be marked with SKU, batch number, length, finished product and barcode.
