Safety Grip Tape For Stairs

Our safety grip tape combines a durable PVC/PET substrate, a mineral abrasive surface layer and an industrial acrylic adhesive. With proper preparation, it can be combined with sealed concrete, metal, painted wood and tiles to form a high-friction surface, outlining the edge of the steps and helping to prevent sliding - even in damp or low-light conditions, luminous stripes can be chosen.

1. Prepare the surface
Clean, dry, and degrease. Remove dust, wax, oil, and loose paint. Seal or prime porous concrete for best adhesion.

2. Measure & cut
Trim to length. Position the tape 5–10 mm (≈¼–½") behind the step front edge to minimize edge-lift.

3. Apply with firm pressure
Peel the liner gradually; press from center outward. Roll thoroughly-pay attention to the edges and step nose.

4. Edge seal (optional, recommended for wet zones)
Apply a thin bead of edge sealer around the perimeter to block water and detergents.

5. Set the time

Before extensive use or cleaning, allow the adhesive to enhance its strength (as per the product instructions). For textured metals, ensure thorough pressing around the pattern.

• Install it at a temperature above ~10°C as much as possible. A cold surface reduces initial viscosity.
• Before applying the tape, seal the dusty/porous substrate. Moisture in concrete can damage adhesion.
• Clean with neutral, non-solvent cleaners; Check and replace the worn parts in time to maintain the grip.Tips: Install above ~10 °C (50 °F). Use primer on rough/porous surfaces. Ensure exterior steps are completely dry before installation.

• Gravel level: Coarse = maximum traction force; The finer it is, the easier it is to clean

  Substrate and pretreatment: Porous/dusty surfaces require sealing/priming.

  Edge exposure: Use an edge sealer in damp or highly cleaned areas.

  Visibility requirement: Pure yellow for contrast; Dangerous stripes in industrial areas; The glow stripes at the faint light outlet.
