Step 1: Choose a suitable transition strip

First, you need to see whether you are transitioning from concrete to tile, concrete to wood, or concrete to carpet because different floor types require different transition strips. Such as tile to concrete transition strip, carpet to concrete transition strip, vinyl to concrete transition strip. Then, measure the length and width of the location where you need to install it so that you can choose the right transition strip.

Step 2: Clean the concrete surface:

Before installing the transition strip, you need to clean the concrete surface, such as removing dust, dirt, debris, or old adhesive, and ensure that the floor surface is flat, smooth, and dry.

Step 3: Measure and cut the transition strip:

Measure the length of the location where the transition strip needs to be installed and cut it to the appropriate length and shape. To avoid injuries, safety equipment such as gloves and goggles is required when cutting.

Step 4: Install the transition strip:

Apply adhesive to the back of the transition strip, then place the transition strip in the predetermined position and secure it with screws or yellow tape. When installing the transition strip, make sure it is flush with the ground surface or slightly lower to reduce the risk of tripping.

Step 5: Seal the transition strip:

You can use a clear, water-resistant sealant to seal both sides of the transition strip, which will prevent dust, water, etc. from penetrating into the transition strip. Wait for the sealant to dry completely before you can safely use the area.
